dont bother. get a go kart of a john deer gator. anything with a roll cage you can screw metal sheets of ply wood to. The nice thing about doing out of one of these instead of a car is it limits the speed to safer levels.

If one is seeking to buy a go kart engine in the United States, an excellent resource would be one of the carting magazines, such as Karting World, Go Kart Magazine, Go Racing Magazine, or National Kart News. They are filled with information on how to build and modify go carts, as well as advertisements to parts shops and suppliers.
To build a go kart, one need square tubing, round steel bar stock, thick steel plate and metal for the chassis. One also needs an engine, chain for the sprocket, bolts, washers, gas tank, steering wheel, wheels, gear, handbrake, bearings, drive shaft, steering shaft, go pedal, and brake pedal.
You build a base and have solid wooden or metal walls. You then have some holes in some parts of the wall to see and inside it you build a glass window. You then need materials of tools and desks.
A box car or a go-kart is simple to make with some wood and four small wheels. If you want a motorized go-kart then it's more complicated but you can probably also make one if you are prepared to work on it. See the attached link for a basic go-kart.
