I'm assuming you are talking about diamond/pearl/platinum. in the main menu, (before you go to the game) mystery gift will be there. when you go into it, you have 3 options. you can get mysterygift from anyone in the world, you can get mystery gift using friend codes, or you can get it from someone else doing it in the room
