You can use any SAE certified Transmission Fluid in your Ford E1 50. I'm also all vehicle manufacturers use the same transmission fluid
According to the 1998 Ford E-150 Owner Guide : ( Motorcraft MERCON automatic transmission fluid is used as the power steering fluid )
should say on trans dip stick
For a 1995 Ford E-150 : ( DOT 3 brake fluid , meeting Ford specification ESA-M6C25-A )
If your changing your filter, it should take 5 quarts. If it's completely empty, about ten.
a crappy one
16 quarts of transmission fluid is what it takes after being completely drained. this i know cause i just had to do it.....
The correct transmission is a Ford 4R70W. It is a common and widely available transmission.
According to the 1999 Ford E-350 Owner Guide ( Motorcraft MERCON automatic transmission fluid ) is used as the power steering fluid
If they are both the same motor maybe check length
E40D in most cases (over drive button on end of gearshift?)
I'm not a mechanic / technician but another contributor stated that there was a plastic plug that was pushed into the automatic transmission fluid pan when the dipstick was installed during manufacture ( I'm assuming that's what you are referring to )
AMSOIL Synthetic Universal Transmission Fluid.E4OD = 16 QuartsC6 = 12 Quarts
