Helo my name is erik,
My truck is a 1992 f250
I have the same problem. I put in a new sensor and pigtail in rear and it still is not working. I have checked and removed and replaced fuses and still no go. I am going to check the wiring for continuity, and voltage. I pulled the speedo cluster out and checked it and the speedo worked for a while and quit again. I have a friend at fords and he thinks it is the wiring from the rear axle sensor to speedo or the speedometer itself. I am looking for a speedometer cluster to borrow to try that. Should be a diesel cluster.
let me know if you get yours working and what you did.
Thanks. Mail me at ehansen@cleaninter.net
Cruise will NOT work if the speedometer has a problem
If the odometer stopped working and the speedometer and cruise control still work, you have a bad odometer. It is part of the speedometer assembly so the whole thing will have to be replaced.
I had to place a small piece of foam between the brake pedal shaft and the cruise control switch. The brake pedal shaft did not "push in" the cruise control switch far enough to let it work. I have had no more problems.
The speedometer is not working. When the speedometer gets to 65 mph I set the cruise control.
Your speed sensor probably broke and needs to be replaced. If the car can't determine it's speed, then it may automatically disable the cruise control.
Your speedometer, odometer, and cruise control quits working; That's all. It happened to me when I replaced the transmission on my Altima and the two wires came out of the connector.
I think you are seeing the cruise control light.
No
what exactly is wrong?
Are you sure you need the fuse for the cruise control. My cruise control wasn't working, neither were my brake lights. All 7 bulbs were burnt out. When the brake lights were replaced the cruise control worked.
one end is going to be of course besind the spedo gauge in your cluster and the other end will be ithe in you transaxle orif you have cruise control it will be at the cruise control transducer.
I had the same problem...the alternator went bad. Both the alternator and battery had to be replaced.
