The most common cause of this is a faulty heater valve. These are simple and cheap to replace. I bought a new one through eBay for £12. You need to open the bonnet, the valve itself sits in front of the windscreen and has 2 rubber pipes at the front coming from the engine and an electrical connection coming from the side. Disconnect the pipes and pull of the connector. Ease out the valve (this can be a bit fiddly), fit the new one, reconnect the pipes and the connector. Start your engine, and when its warm top up your water as you probably lost some. And that's all there is to it. Should take no more than 20 mins to do and cost less than £20. Good luck.
