Civic nationalism: This form of nationalism is based on the shared values, principles, and beliefs of individuals in a nation, rather than their ethnic or cultural background. It emphasizes the idea that anyone can become a part of the nation through their adherence to these shared values.
Liberal nationalism: This form of nationalism combines elements of civic nationalism with a focus on individual rights, freedoms, and democracy. It values inclusive citizenship and the protection of individual liberties within the nation.
Cultural nationalism: This form of nationalism emphasizes the importance of a nation's distinct cultural identity and heritage, including its language, literature, arts, and traditions. It seeks to promote and preserve the cultural values and expressions of the nation.
Nationalism can take on various forms such as ethnic nationalism, civic nationalism, cultural nationalism, and religious nationalism. Each form emphasizes different aspects of a nation such as shared ancestry or culture, loyalty to the state, common traditions, or religious identity.

it is perhaps hard to envisage a viable state without nationalism. Nationalism in different forms ties people together. Also the state uses the idea of liberal nationalism to legitimize its actions- the civil,social and cultural rights it gives the citizen. perhaps a very short and simple answer but true!

There are two type of Nationalism Ethno-nationalism and Civic Nationalism Constructive nationalism is the latest dimension of Nationalism. Basically constructive nationalism is a combination of progressive features of ethno-nationalism and civic nationalism.
