There are four ways to find a ratio.
1 A dealer can normally tell from the vin number.
2 There are normally tags or labels on the axle that have part number, gear ratio, and fluid requirement
info.
3 You can count how many times you have to turn the driveshaft to get one complete turn of the tires.
4 You can divide the number of teeth on the ring gear and divide by number of teeth on the pinion.
depends upon the truck, diffrent ratio's were used
Same as the rear.
it will be the same as the rear diff
what is the axle gear ratio for a 1998 ford ranger 4x4 4.0l?
I have a 95 and the gear is 4.11. It is on a little placard on the axle diff. cover. Can be either on the front or rear. Good luck.
As long as they are the same gear ratio they interchange also All wheel drive astro vans front diff will work
3.73
There should be a small metal tag on the rear diff attached by one of the bolts. if that one is missing then check on the front diff. They have to be the same or you will do massive damage to your truck in 4X4. If they are both missing you're going to have to open the rear end and figure out what you have. You may have heard terms like rear axle ratio or final drive ratio. These refer to the gear ratio in the differential. If the final drive ratio is 4.10, then the ring gear has 4.10 times as many teeth as the input pinion gear. You could count teeth and figure the ratio out. You may be able to get more information at the site linked in the Related Links.
4.3 L engine, aprox 16 to 19 mpg depending on diff gear ratio. 2.2 L engine, aprox 26 to 29 depending on diff gear ratio and standard or automatic transmission.
its either 355 or 373 there are tags on diff that give you numbers
It will be the same as the rear. Write the VIN# down and call a Chevy dealer and ask for parts. Then tell the parts man that you have the VIN# and you would like to know the GEAR RATIO of your truck.
depends on the gear ratio to begin with. keep in mind Z-71's are four wheel drive. If you change the rear diff ratio you also have to change the front diff as well.
