I have had RA for most of my life and have found that while there were times that my ability's became limited as a result of the effects of the disease I was always able to keep up and perform on an equal and at time superior footing with my fellow workers, However there are many instances where people can become totally incapacitated by this disease. the prognosis needs to take into account the ability of a person to deal with a certain amount of pain. and luck insofar as how much damage the disease manages to do to the body. So far I have ended up wit one elbow that needed replacing and hope that I wont need any more mechanical repairs in the future, but there is no way to know for sure.
