While I'm sure there have been (and are currently) many George Marshalls, one that specifically comes to mind was Secretary of State George Marshall during President Truman's administration who orchestrated (with others) the Marshall Plan for aiding reconstruction of Europe and Asia after World War II.
The Marshall Plan commem. was issued in 1997 fifty years after the plan was formulated. The plan organized and funded the reconstruction of Europe after the War, led to the formation of NATO and earned a Noble Peace Prize for Marshall.
