Actually tomato juice and/or tomato paste will not remove skunk odor from anything. People believe this works because when someone has been exposed to skunk odor for several minutes their nose begins to get used to the smell (olfactory fatigue) then when a strong new odor (like Tomato Juice) is smelled, their sense of smell becomes overwhelmed and can only smell the tomato juice.

Think about it, when you walk into Italian restaurants you usually smell a strong garlic odor, but after you're in the restaurant for ten minutes you don't smell the odor anymore. But if you were only in the restaurant for 3 minutes and someone opened a can of tomato juice beneath your nose you wouldn't smell the garlic anymore! It's amazing how the human olfactory system works.

Mix 2 bottles hydrogen peroxide, 1 cup baking soda, and about a tablespoon of hand soap together in a bucket (use plastic utensils ONLY to mix solution).

Apply the solution to you/your pet/your clothes and let stand for 5-10 minutes, depending on how bad the smell is.

After time is up, rinse thoroughly. Use Febreeze if there's any residual smell (which is rare).

Tomato juice should remove the smell(ketchup won't work)

I know from experience that tomato juice is a very ineffective way to remove skunk odor. Here is a better way:

• 1 gallon water
• 1 quart hydrogen peroxide ~3% solution
• 1 cup baking soda
• 1 good squirt of hand or dish soap

But the BEST way is Nature's Miracle found at pet stores and retail stores. It is the best way to remove skunk odor.
