If it was a power surge that stopped your 360 from working, just go buy a new power cable. The power brick is an inverter/surge protector, so usually it only takes the brick out, not the console. I've heard a few stories of this happening. If your 360 IS fried and you have no warranty, you might as well take it apart to get the disc, or try to pry the tray open with a knife or something. Repairs are expensive, and I've heard from a 360 Tech Support that there are no repairs under $100. But if this isn't the problem just make sure that you are very careful on trying to pry the tray out. If the rest is fine you don't want to make a bigger mess!
