I don't know any Roman gods, but I know lots of the Greek ones:
1. Poseidon- sea God
2. Zeus- sky God
3. Aphrodite- goddess of love
4. Ares- God of War
The Romans, simply put, took Greek mythology and renamed the gods.
Greek or Romans ?
No, the Greek gods and Roman gods are very similar, but they have different names and slightly different attributes. Many of the Roman gods were influenced by Greek mythology, with the Romans adopting and adapting the Greek gods to fit their own cultural beliefs.
Romans worship their gods through feasting. For example, Saturnalia.....
Yes, there were literally hundreds of gods that the Romans had adopted into their culture from their conquests of other empires.
The Romans based their gods on the Greek gods and only changed the names.
They were most the same, but more warlike - like Romans
that was the way the Romans named their version of the Greek gods/goddess
Although the Romans worshipped many of the Greek gods, under Roman names, there were differences in the two religions. The Romans also had gods they inherited from their Etruscan neighbours, although by and large the Greek gods became more important. The Romans never really adopted the Greek belief in oracles. On the other hand, the Romans followed a form of shamanism and divination.
The Gods of Pompeii were Roman, Greek and Egyptian, as it was part of the Roman Empire.
The Romans took many properties of important Greek gods and gave them new names and slightly different jobs.
Romans copied the Greek gods but changed their names and attitudes when they invaded Greece. They made the gods more aggressive and named most of them after the planets.
