God does not make us imperfect. When Adam was created, he was perfect, in the image of God (Gen 1:27). When Eve was created, she chose to disobey God by eating of the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and gave the fruit to Adam and he disoboyed God as well. They became aware of their sin and then were taken out of the garden. It was Adam's choice to disobey God and now we are born with a sinful nature because sin was passed down through the generations. Read Genesis chapter 3.

God did not make us imperfect, we are made in the image of God that makes us like God we just don't understand the nature of imperfection, or the beauty of the whole, Warts and all.

Another answer from our community:

God gave humans the power to choose. We were not made to be robots and be good all the time. We have as much power to choose evil as we do good. And unfortunately, many choose the way of the world. Because of Adam and Eve and the fall of man

because that's the way life is

free will, the knowledge to chose between right and wrong. we end up being 50/50.

Jonab: from what you say I take that God should not expect man to be anything other than 50/50. Is there any surprise to God that man turns out the way he is?

This is one of the arguments for a nonperfect god; either the god cannot create a perfect being and is not omnipotent, omniscient, etc. or he can and we are exact images, and the god is by extension not perfect.

From a Biblical standpoint: He did not make humans imperfect. After creating humans he viewed them as "very good". (Genesis 1:31) Even the angel that became the devil was created perfect. (Ezekiel 28:15) All of God's creations were given free will, including the angels. The angel that became the devil, thought that humans were not perfect, and would not listen to God so he set out to prove he was right. (Genesis 3:1-7; Job 2:2-5)

It was after he got the first humans to rebel that humans became imperfect and thus inherited sin. Which was also passed down to all of their offspring. Sin leads to death, which is why all humans die. (Romans 5:12-14; Romans 6:23) Apparently, mainy of the other angels thought the Devil was right, and thus sided with him and became demons. (Luke 11:15; Revelation 12:4)

To prove that humans were not imperfect and capable of serving God perfectly, God sent his only-begotten son, Jesus Christ, to Earth as a human in order to redeem the creation of mankind. (John 3:16) The devil tried very hard to tempt Jesus in order to prove that he was right. (Matthew 4:1-11) Jesus resisted him until death thus redeeming the human race, making it possible for God to forgive our imperfect condition, and thus giving us hope for a restoration to perfection and everlasting life. (Romans 5:15-21)

This is what Christians mean when they say that "Jesus died for us" because he proved that humans were not an imperfect creation and that God did not make a mistake in creating them.

According to Genesis 1:26, man (both male and female) was made in the image of God. This can only mean that we are to believe God is flesh and blood just like his creations. If we are really made in God's image, he gets Arthritis, could have problems with high blood pressure or suffer from hernias. Otherwise, we are only made in God's image allegorically.

The two have no intrinsic connection. We are created in God's image in the sense that He has given each of us a soul and free-will. We can use that to approach perfection, not more.We are imperfect based upon our imperfect decisions and based upon the fact that our bodies were not intended to be perfect either.

Because that was never God's intent. Only He is perfect. We can only approach perfection to the best of our ability. See also:

Why did a perfect god create imperfect humans?

Answer The questioner of this question is operating under improper knowledge. He assumes that God created imperfect humans. That is not correct and therefor this question is also erroneous. Creation is an event that happened thousands of years back. Those who were crated then were not imperfect. According to the report of creation that has withstood time and is available to us today (The Bible) those people who were created back then (Adam and Eve) disobeyed their creator and violated the rules He laid down, (sinned) and this became imperfect.

If God loses perfect judgment does God lose his position as God?

Well, the position of God isn't inherited or earned, God is just God; always has been, always will be. In the words of a speaker I've heard, "You can't impeach Him, and He's not gona resign." If He is not perfect, he is not God. God, and only God, is perfect. God's judjement is, always has been, and always will be perfect. If you don't believe me you can kill yourself and find out, but I really wouldn't recommend it, considering that if you're wrong about God being imperfect, you'll spend the rest of eternity in misery.

What was the body before sin?

It was a perfect, beautiful human body. Sin was the disobedience to God, and as a punishment, first man and woman lost their perfectness and couldn't give the birth to perfect human children. All their children inherited sin - which means we are imperfect, get sick, think wrong, make involuntary mistakes, are dieing.Jehovah God provided his Son Jesus as the ransom, so we could get back the perfect life and perfect body as Adam and Eve had before the sin.
