Good role-playing is the ability to NOT act on something that you know but your character doesn't. When you have rolled up a second character and thought about his or her background, another player should be able to tell which "who" you are by your actions, opinions, and mannerisms. Being a good role-player means being able to separate out game actions from reality (just because people are mean to your character doesn't equate with them being mean to you), showing up on time, holding true to your character's personality and beliefs, and sticking around to clean up after a massive gaming session. And it would be nice if you brought the snacks once or twice.
