most phones have a GPS test mode that will give lat. and long.
however be careful activating this test mode as some local 911 systems interpret the test as a real 911 call, even though you did NOT dial 911!!!!!
I've tried it, it is safe in my local area but in a different state I had to explain why I was making repeated 911 calls then hanging up! ouch.
