gram-Equivalent of iodine is 127 because its molecular weight is 2(127) and 2 electron change involve in the redox titration
The molecular weight of iodine is two, a 2-electron change. Therefore, the gram equivalent weight of iodine is 127 grams.
Elemental iodine has a molar mass of 126.9 g/mol but seeing as it is diatomic in nature, the actual molar mass is 253.8 g/mol
253.81 g mol-1
iodine no is no of gms of iodine equivalent to ICl consumed by 100gms of oil. iodine no.=vol. of iodine used( ICl)* normality* equivalent weight of iodine / weight of oil sample
- The atomic weight of iodine is 126,90447; for a 0,1 N solution, dividing by 10 the result is 12,69. - The iodide (KI) is added to increase the solubility of iodine in water or alcohol.
Iodine crystal is solid Iodine. Iodine solution is when Iodine crystals are dissolved in water.
The solute in tincture of iodine is iodine.
The name of this compound is iodine heptafluoride.
iodine no is no of gms of iodine equivalent to ICl consumed by 100gms of oil. iodine no.=vol. of iodine used( ICl)* normality* equivalent weight of iodine / weight of oil sample

I can't really explain anything here. I don't spend countless hours memorizing this stuff. I simply take a look at the periodic table. So, looking at the periodic table, I know the masses of elements generally increase as I scroll through. It's kind of like looking through a book, namely the page numbers. Looking, i see that iodine (I, atomic number 53) has that atomic mass.
