Terraforming is the scientific word for 'earth forming' it means to deliberately modifying its Atmosphere, Temperaturesurface Topography or Ecology to be similar to those of Earth to make it Habitable by terran Organisims.

At the moment NASA and other space companies believe that we can Terraform Mars, this is a passage i copyied from a book called "Encyclopedia of Space"

"In theory, the Martian environment could be altered to make the planet habitable for humans. This task is known as Terraforming. An important step would to be warm the planlet by inducing a Green House effect. This could be done by unfreezing the Greenhouse gas Carbon Dioxide locked in the planet's rocks and polar icecaps. Many Centuries would pass before Temperature and Pressure rose to the point at which plants could survive on the planet." Written by Nigel Henbest
