id say guilty gear if your a hardcore fighting game fan looking for fast gameplay and a intense combo system. blazblue HAS got more of less the same system but is a slower simpler combat system. also no false roman cancels(cancel a combo at a certain frame) but they do have the normal roman cancels.
overall id say blazblue if you want the up to date game that everyone is playing. it might be abit slow but Ive had some intense battles on it.
as for characters... most of the ones in blazblue seems to be copy-paste designs of those in guilty gear with different move-sets but the same role. i think personally that the guilty gear cast are by far more powerful but that's just from what I've seen.
im personally more of a fan of guilty gear, i really hope they release another one like AC i didnt like guilty gear overture probly because ima fan of the intensly GODLIKE system it runs on.
