that once happened to my guinea pig do not take it to vet they make it worse we all agreed just do not pick it up make sure no pigs are being rough with it it will heal maybe month or so
Absolutly right, just home from vet, the right hind foot was sticking out after a fall, vet pulled and pushed his leg, then let him down on the floor and the full leg was hanging behind him and he was in agony, way worse than when I brought him in, vet said he could do NOTHING for him but charged me €39.50 for exactly 4mins of his time, he did'nt even offer a painkiller, I so regret taking the poor fella to the vet, Vet put him through agony simply because he wanted money, my advice is to leave the guinea pig alone, he'll have a much better chance!
Animal bone breaks must be stabilized usually by splinting and taping. With a small animal this is very difficult. The splint must take the load of the animal off the break as it walks. If you leave the hair on the leg it will be almost impossible to remove the tape without spraying the adhesive with ether.
Ether is sprayed on the adhesive to make it stick to rough shaved animal skin. The adhesive on the tape becomes liquid so it will stick to the uneven surface.
You are talking about four to six weeks if the animal recovers at all. If it is painful the animal may refuse to move and eat.
Did you know that Guinea Pigs are food in South America? See Andrew Zimmern Bizarre Food TV series on the Travel Channel.
You should take your guinea pig to a veterinarian immediately. This is extremely painful and if not treated properly can lead to death from septis or shock or permanent cripppling of the legs from mis-healed bones.
Make an emergency appointment to see the vet straight away! Meanwhile wrap a blanket round your guinea pig and comfort it.
Your guinea pig may have sleeped on it paw funny. Give it a few days and if he still is limping then try pushing around its paw and if she squels with pain call ur vet. hope it helped!
If your guinea pig is limping it must mean its leg is broken or just hurt.
it might be sqeaking, chatter or trying to bite you a lot
Needs immediate care!! Take to a vet immediately or it can cause permanent damage to your guinea pig, even kill it.
i can cause im a sicko massaging animals. ima vet
I have both and I play with my guinea pigs way more than my ds. The money is worth it. Guinea Pigs are sooooooo cute!
Guinea pigs from separate litters that are about three months and younger can be housed together. However, if the guinea pigs are older and from different litters or if one guinea pig is older and from a litter separate from a younger guinea pig, then one or both of the guinea pigs may become stressed or jealous. This can also become dangerous because some guinea pigs may try to fight each other. The two guinea pigs should be placed in separate cages. So that they can become more familiar with each other, maybe they can be placed together in a play area for a few minutes. If one or both of the guinea pigs become stressed or attempts to attack the other one, then they should be placed back in their separate cages until they have time to calm down. It's possible that the older guinea pig will become use to the younger one, but both guinea pigs should be supervised while they're together so that there won't be any problems.
yes. that is abuse.
Well if it is a male, it is possibly fighting over a female Guinea hen Or if it is both female then it should be my theory switched with the genders
Both genders are very equal in care and you should probably get two Guinea Pigs. But you should realize they CAN get pregnant if you have a Male. But it is better to have both types because they are very social in the wild. Boys tend to get very stinky!
Yes, if they're girls. If they're boys they are not aloud to be put back together or they will fight and one might end up dieing. But females should be fine, even if they're both pregnant. :)
You can feed them both guinea pig food. Don't feed the guinea pig the rabbit food or it will be sick. Rabbits are ok on guinea pig food.
It's a little small, but guinea pigs don't actually need very much space. Two guinea pigs should be fine, as long as they are both females.
The Coral Sea borders both Papua New Guinea and Australia.
No. They both originate from South America but they are not related.
He will mate with both.
yes both spiders and grasshoppers can live in Papua New Guinea.
