∙ 14y agoThe legal system of the Republic of South Africa is largely based on Roman-Dutch Law, however it was also influenced by the British Common Law system as a result of the inclusion of the country as a colony in the British Empire.
In addition, modern South African law recognises the role that African customary law played in the regulation of disputes amongst the traditionally indigenous population.
