Chapstick is a wax based petroleum product and depending on the carpet can be difficult to remove. But try this.... get a brown paper grocery bag, an old bathroom towel, and a clothes iron. Cut the bag open, so that it is either one or two ply. Place the brown paper bag over the spot made by the Chapstick, place the towel over the paper bag and set the clothes iron for medium temperature (Steam off). Iron the towel, periodically look under the towel to see if the Chapstick is being absorbed into the brown paper bag material. (Note: You may wish to test a spot on the same rug in a closet first to see if heat effects the rug material)If you do not notice any transfer of the Chapstick to the brown paper try slowly increasing the heat, this may take some time. Do Not leave the iron on any one spot too long, keep the iron moving, heat the layers evenly and slowly to avoid damage to the rug.
This will work on several stains of this type i.e. candles, waxes, clear lipsticks etc. This will not work to remove the color staining.
The ChapStick is up your butt.
chapstick was invented in the early 1800s
