Halal Cosmetics Market
As in the Muslim halal? No, not that i am aware of!
NO
No ive heard that they use alot of animal products in their cosmetics not in all of but in many.
Muslim women use "halal" cosmetics--ones that contain only ingredients acceptable to Muslim law. (Basically this means no pork fat, no gelatin--a lot of it is sourced from pork--and no alcohols.) In the Middle East, if you buy cosmetics they're going to be halal; it is a huge business over there. If you're in a non-Muslim country you can go to an Islamic market and find halal products, or you can go to websites like halalcosmetics.com.
If you were looking for makeup that is definitely Halal I would try to stick to Vegan cosmetics, as you can be sure that these definitely contain no animal products, so it becomes a non-issue. Urban Decay have a large range of vegan cosmetics, as well as most Mineral makeup companies. One product that makes makeup not vegan but would be OK for you is Carmine, it is a red pigment that comes from insects (beetles I think). Hope this helps.
1>In Australia, all slaughter for halal meat is regulated by the government. 2>Brazil dominates the global market with a 54% share of exported halal meat, according to KasehDia.
Adipic acid is a sodium by-product that is generally obtained from animal fat. It is not considered Halal, but there are soy alternatives that are available on the market.
Haribo products produced in Haribo's factory in Turkey are made with beef gelatin and are certified HALAL. All other items are made with pork gelatin. Marina Market will soon have Kosher Haribo!
The term is "halal cosmetics"--halal means "permitted" in Arabic--and there are supposedly huge brands of halal products...OnePure is one that's marketed as being halal. Unfortunately for the Muslim world, the OnePure cosmetics company currently makes no cosmetics--they have cleaners, moisturizers and toners, but no color cosmetics. However! From what I've read, cosmetics are halal if they contain no animal products (gelatin is found in some cosmetics, and it can come from pork) or alcohol. Given that, a good-quality mineral makeup is what you want.
