What will it take to market handicraft products?

my name is javeria shabbir and i will try my best to answer. plz don't forget to rate. thanks i think we must first of all see that what is the product we are trying to sell ,what is its market . and what is the market demand for such products. it is very important because in handicraft products you must appeal to your customer who are rich to afford such luxury products. the target customer is not price conceious so we must appeal to the self image of the customer. that by buying these products he will show that he has a good taste tha he is using somthing different and also he is a socially responsible person because by buying these products he is indirectly helping the slowly fading crafts men who are making these peices and is pumping the fresh blood into the veins of the tradition. Hi. This is Mahesh Weeratunge from MAK Gallery - Sri Lanka. I partially agree to the above; BUT, we have to understand that Handicrafts are not luxury and not only for rich. We can mark high price since every piece is a masterpiece. BUT we need to understand that every customer has his/her own judgment on the valu of any product. If customer wants to highlight in his/her society by buying this handicraft, the society too should value this in the same. How he gets highlited on this purchase if society does not value the product same as customer. In that aspect we cannot overprice just because a masterpiece. How ever we should not underprice as it can devalue the craftmen skill.
