The gas pedal could be difficult to push down for a few reasons. One reason that it could be hard is due to a pinch in the cable. It could also be an issue with the gas linkage.

Do you mean when you push the pedal " hard " you hear noise..........if so could be the ABS..........if not, then please have your brakes checked for safety.
Start the engine and then push the brake pedal down. If it is soft and easy to push then the booster is okay. If booster is BAD the brake pedal would be hard to push.

Hardness in the brake pedal can because by low brake fluid. Air in the brake lines can also cause the pedal to push hard.
1. Turn the ignition to the "on" position 2. Wait three seconds, then press the gas pedal (very hard) 5 times within 5 seconds 3. Release your foot from the gas peddle for 7 seconds 4. Push the gas pedal down for 10 seconds (SES Light should start to blink) 5. Release the gas pedal for 10 seconds 6. Push the gas pedal again holding it down for 10 more seconds 7. Release the gas pedal and turn the ignition to "off" 8. Start the car, your ECU should now be reset.
