Any bidirectional communication channel or link between two or more computers fits into this category. This can be Ethernet port (wired or wireless) directly connected between two machines or associated switch or router which allows more connections to same network. Similarly other wired or wireless serial connections (like serial ports, USB, Bluetooth, Infrared) between computers can also send and receive data instructions and information between computers.
Actually the answer to this question is communication device, stated in the book: Microsoft Office 2007 Introductory Concepts and Techniques
communications device
Answer:There's actually a few devices which involve sending information between computers. One is called a Modem, which stands for Modulator/Demodulator. Modems take digital signals from the sending computer and convert these signals into Analog so they can be transmitted over wire (phone or cable). On the receiving computer, the Analog signals are then converted back to Digital in order for the computer to decipher the information. The other devices are NIC cards (network cards), cat5 cables, and routers or switches.A NIC (Network Interface Card) connect computers to a network for transmitting and receiving.
PCI Modem or Network Interface Card (NIC or LAN Card)
Ethernet port (through a router or hub), bluetooth, wireless card ( PCIe, PCMCIA, usb, built in etc)

All computers currently available have similar components and functions. The obvious component is the System Box. This is most obvious in Desktop Computers. The system box used to be called the CPU - wrongly considering the confusion that caused. What the system box contains are things like a power suplly to power everything, the memory to do the work required and also to store the answers obtained fro the work, and the heart or mircroprocessor to actually do everyhing needed. The second component is the Screen to show you what information you are giving the computer, any message the computer needs to tell you, and the results the computer has come up with. The thrid component is the Keyboard to enter information into the computer, give the computer instructions on what to do with the information, and were to send the results to.
Data, information, and instructions.
CPU
The computer component that converts raw data into significant information, interprets software instructions and controls output devices is the processor. This is what is commonly known as the CPU.
What sets of instructions do computers use to process data? - Computer Programs
they break into computers for information
input
The CPU, Central Processing Unit, ALSO called the Processor interprets and carries out basic instructions on the computer.
