yes it has but only once.

I am from Mobile, Alabama and I have personally seen a black panther. The two other people in the car saw it also. Judging by the general size, shape, and very long tail I believe it was a black jaguar. While we were stopped at a traffic light it walked beside our car and then crossed the street in front of our car so we all got a very good look at it.
More recently my sister, her husband, and adult son, saw a black panther at the Grand Bay, AL I-10 rest stop during the daytime. They saw it walking along the back fence of the rest stop and then jump over the fence, stop and look at them, then walk across a road Into the Woods.
in my lifetime I have heard many eyewitness reports of black panther sitings in south Alabama around Mobile so I believe there is a breeding population in the area. My grandparents and great grandmother often spoke of seeing them so they have been in the area since at least the late 1800's.
I have never heard of a large spotted cat in the area, only the black variety. I would love to hear an explanation from an expert.
Panther have been found on Earth since Prehistoric times The black panther is not a species. It is either a black leopard or jaguar.
It may have been an albino mountain lion, known in Florida as a panther. However, it is not a panther and belongs to an entirely different genus. Albino mountain lions are rare but not unknown.
No, it is not endangered. There is actually no particular species called the 'black panther.' It is either a melanistiic (black) form of the leopard or a melanistic jaguar. Neither species is currently endangered,
Black Panther is not a species but wild black panthers in Latin America are black jaguars (Panthera onca), in Asia and Africa they are black leopards (Panthera pardus), and in North America they may be black jaguars or possibly black cougars (Puma concolor - although this has not been proven to have a black variant).
No. A black panther is a jaguar or leopard that is "melanistic," meaning that it is dark/black in color. They actually still have spots, which you can see up close. They can be either male or female. As a side note, there are many folklore tales that say that there are black panther cougars as well, though there hasn't ever really been one seen or captured.
It all depends. If it was a classic black panther tattoo where it is clawing up or down your arm, then it means nothing. If it was just the head of a black panther or a fairly cartoonish looking panther lunging at you with claws, then it very well may have been the symbol for the Black Panther Party. They organised and were created in 1966, so if it was before then, probably not. They did have a number of white people as well as others who were sympathetic to their plight and supported them, so the color of the person wearing it is fairly irrelevant.
No, there are melanistic (black) forms of the leopard, jaguar, or cougar which people may consider to be a black panther but the fact is that the leopard/jaguar was born with melanistic (black) chromosomes instead of normal pigmentation chromosomes. The term "black panther" is the over-all term for melanistic (black) leopards, jaguars, or cougars. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Blacks panthers ARE real, they're just melanistic forms of the leopard, jaguar, and cougar. It's like saying the wolf isn't real, it just has many types.
Black panthers have been spotted from florida to kentucky, Hope this helps you !
the medfly has been spotted no where
It was determined, by observation and genetic experimentation, that "Black panthers" are simply jaguars (Panthera onca) or leopards (Panthera pardus) with a genetic condition called melanism. They have been selectively bred in captivity creating something similar to a subspecies of each.
