Has anyone else had anorgasm last permanently after stopping Lexapro?

I used to have amazing orgasms (when I wasn't taking an SSRI). It took me no time, no fantasy was required, just intense, brilliant, full-body, muscle contracting long lasting orgasms (with or without a partner). When I started taking Lexapro, that stopped. I wasn't concerned as that was usually the case on SSRI's, and I knew it would go back to normal after I stopped taking it. It's been over a year now since I stopped taking Lexapro and I still can't have an orgasm. Nothing. I have some libido, sexual stimulation, but NO orgasm. I keep thinking I'm crazy, that it can't really be true, so I try, and try, and try. Nothing. I keep hoping that maybe it's just going to take a while, and it will gradually return to normal, but it's not. There isn't even a glimmer of anything resembling an orgasm. If there was one thing I could undue in my life, it would be this. My sex life is forever changed. I NEVER would have taken this drug if I knew that the potential for permanent sexual side effects existed. I think that this is criminally unfair. I can't believe the kind of sex life I used to have is just quickly becoming a distant memory instead of an ongoing and beautiful part of my current life and future. Devastating doesn't come close to describing how I feel. I WOULD DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM TAKING LEXAPRO!

Is lexapro a benzodiapine?
Dose anyone know if Lexapro considered a benzo? NO, definitely not! As a matter of fact, I do not know of any current SSRI antidepressants that have BZE's (benzos) mixed with or included in there manufacturing process....

I did and ended it with having my gallbladder removed and weaning off Lexapro in one week. My first problems with my gallbladder arose a couple of months into taking Lexapro for the first time years before. I stopped and then I had a pregnancy and about 5 year with no lexapro. When I had a traumatic family sitiuation I tried Lexapro again and again a couple of months into it I started to have gallbladder attacks. I took one lexapro after my surgery and it made me so sick I have vowed to never touch it again. It sucked because it really did great for my anxiety.

I have been taking lexapro for years and have gained a total of 20 lbs and my eating habits have never changed I blame the lexapro and now I will slowly stop taking it due to this fact.I've tried losing the weight just about starving myself ,walking nothing works I truly believe it is the lexapro>

Taking 20 mg of lexapro for 2 years but having fatigue dr recommended switching from lexapro to 30 mg of Cymbalta for 2 weeks and then 60 mg has anyone switched and what was your experience?
I switched from 10mg lexapro to 30 mg cymbalta for 2 wk and then 60 mg. Have had good results. For one thing I quit gaining weight, as I did on lexapro. Cymbalta also helped my muscle aches and pains as an added plus.

yes i have a similar problem. maybe it is because you are less depressed, but in my case i don't feel that way.
Does anyone have swishing noises in head when turning and vertigo while coming off lexapro?
I'm currently trying to get off of Lexapro. I've been taking 10-20 mg for the past 5 yrs. I haven't experienced the noises, but certainly the sensation of swishing when turning my head side to side, as well as the vertigo/dizziness. Many other people cite the same sensations as this when withdrawing from Lexapro.
Stopping Lexi pro after 15 days?
For two years I took Lexapro, 20 mg. a day. I started reducing by cutting them in half and taking only 10 mg. I then switched to 1/4 a pill every three days. Last week I was cold turkey and the "blanking" started. My side affects from Lexapro were sexual, no desire, and being too placid. The biggest side affect was lack if libido. Anyway, the "blanking" I'm referring to is like a one second shock of low voltage. My brain is engaged, but it's like I'm stuttering mentally. I hate this drug; it's side affects and withdrawals. If anyone has the opportunity for alternative therapy, go for that. Quitting Lexapro is a Biatch! I've quit nicotine, and Lexapro is worse. It does work, so that's why it's prescribed. What they do not tell you are that it has some unreal side affects. My worst so far was today. No patience and rambling on. I even started a fight with my girlfriend for no apparent reason, other than Lexapro stoppage.
