Pregnancy is usually measured from the first day of your last menstrual period. Most people ovulate mid-cycle - typically day 14 (the first day of a period counts as day 1). If fertilisation occurs, it is likely to happen within a day or two of this. It takes a little longer for the fertilised egg to travel down the fallopian tube and implant into the wall of the uterus. Once implanted the embryo starts to develop and HCG hormones are produced. It is the HCG levels that affect a pregnancy test. The usual advice is that an over the counter pregnancy test can be done on the first day of your missed period - HCG levels in your urine will have built to a level that is readible. If you are two weeks pregnant according to the measurement from your last menstrual period, it is unlikely your embryo has even implanted let alone HCG being produced in quantities that are detectable. By these measures, 'one week pregnant' could happen even before intercourse! However, confusingly, some people do measure pregnancy from implantation and so a blood test or urine test of HCG would be possible.

absolutely i wouldn't of ever believed it could be true, until i experienced it myself I had only missed my first period had already gained 10 lbs had a little baby bump my boobs were lactating and had actually grown at least a cup size, everyones body is different so although that symptom isn't common for most people it is possible

Yes i have found out that im two or three weeks pregnant. My hormone levels were 789 on 4-11-11 and today they are 1789. It was to early to do an ultrasound because they really cant see anything this early in pregnancy on u/s. Good luck
