Not completely true, in a state of near death, a serbian named Dusan was guided arounded Heaven by an the Angel Gabriel who showed him the purity of heaven and the happiness they show and the light was far more beautiful and brighter than that of earth, something unimagenable. tHE ANGEL TOLD dUSAN HE MUST REPENT TO GET TO HEAVen as all of us must. Supposedly a true story.

No. Since the concept of heaven first arose, no one has ever seen heaven.

Paul Kurtz points out, in Science and Religion: Are They Compatible? that not everyone who is dying reports near-death experiences, but many people who are not dying report having them. He says:

  • Some have said that the falls or accident where a person thinks he is about to die, but survives, can cause analogous out-of-body experiences and panoramic reviews.
  • Sleep paralysis and hypopompic and hypnagogic dream states are factors in common out-of-body experiences.
  • Conditions such as low blood sugar, oxygen deprivation, reduced blood flow, temporal-lobe epilepsy can lead to an altered state of consciousness.

For Kurtz, the most common factor is the belief that one is dying.
