Unfortunately, yes. Nic Sheff himself admitted in an interview that he has relapsed at least five times since writing Tweak. He wrote a second book, We All Fall Down, about this experience.
Nic Sheff publicly shared his struggles with addiction over the years, but specific details about his relapses are not consistently documented. It's important to focus on his journey to recovery and the positive steps he has taken to maintain sobriety.
There was a program about addiction on CNN not too long ago. For a follow-up interview Nic canceled and then wrote a 4 paged letter saying he had relapsed on prescription pills and marijuana.
Then the interview was rescheduled and then filmed at the rehab home he was residing in.
Their follow up info said he had relapsed once again on vicodin after their last interview, but he claims he is sober again.
You be the judge.
