Yes, the NRA has endorsed Democrats over Republicans in the past. However, it is relatively uncommon for the NRA to endorse Democrats, as the organization generally aligns more with conservative views on gun control. Endorsements by the NRA are typically given to candidates who strongly support Second Amendment rights and advocate for less restrictive gun legislation.

Mixed and variable over the years with 14 Democrats and 9 Republican Governors since it became a state. The current At Large US Reprentative is a Republican but both US Senators and the current Governor are Democrats. In the 2008 Presidential election John McCain carried the state.

Gary Johnson used to be the Republican governor of New Mexico state from 1995-2003. After that he left the Republican Party and switched over to the Libertarian Party, which he is still a part of today. In addition, in 2012, he ran for president of the USA as the Libertarian Party candidate. Hope this helps! Regards, Ryan S. :)
I believe that the Governor of West Virginia nominates a new Senator in his place. In this case- the Governor is a democrat, it's fairly another Democrat would be nominated, and I'm not sure if a republican could be chosen even if the Governor chose.

A moderate can be a Democrat, Republican, 3rd party, or independent. They are also called "Centrists". Conservatives (mostly Republican) tend to be what is called "right of center" . Liberals (mainly Democrats) are generally "left of center". The vast majority of Americans are moderates, and want the country governed from the middle. Not too far right, or too far left. Politically, moderate politicians are important as they keep the government from going too far left or right, and more towards the middle, where the majority want it. In the public sector, moderates are important because they have the numbers, and control the elections. Most moderate Democrats will note for a moderate Republican over a liberal Democrat, just as most moderate Republicans will vote for a moderate Democrat over a far right conservative Republican.
The Republican Party became divided over the Payne-Aldrich Tariff Act of 1909. The party split into the Progressives and the Old Guard. Since the party split, a democrat won the next election.
A late December Pew poll said that 24% of Hispanics support Romney (Republican) against Obama (Democrat).A recent poll by Fox News (March/2012) said that 14% support Romney over Obama.During the last campaign 76% voted for Obama (Democrat), which means that only 24% voted Republican.According to past records, it is likely that approximately 18% will vote Republican this year, and 82% will vote Democrat. What greatly advantages Democrats in this 2012 election is that Romney (Republican's most likely candidate) has given himself a bad name to the Hispanic community by supporting anti-immigrant approaches.
