Sorry- that is a serial number, and conveys no information. If the barrel is not marked, you need to take it to a gunsmith who will measure the chamber- not only for gauge, but for the correct shell length. Just because an unfired shell fits does not mean it is the correct shell. And it is not a rifle, but a shotgun.
You only have twenty five seconds for one shot, or twenty five seconds to live. I'm not sure, could be either.
Can't give an exact date, but Stevens used the Riverside name from about 1920 to 1945.
No
Not a model number. If you are finding that stamped behind the trigger guard it is an assembly number. In any event, virtually any Stevens single-shot shotgun is going to sell for less than $100. sales@countrygunsmith.net
$60 to $100
It was made by J. Stevens Arms (division of Savage Arms) sometime after 1920.
Some models of Diamond Arms were made by the Crescent Fire Arms Company for the Shapleigh Hardware Company of St, Louis, Mo. between 1982 and about 1922.
If it has one, it would be behind the trigger guard. sales@countrygunsmith.net
My shotgun says patent 1900 everything else seems the same
it is that part under the barrel that you hold it by. when you hold a shotgun one hand will be on the forward part of the stock directly behind the trigger and the other will be on the forearm or fore end as it is sometimes called.
Very nice. I wish I had one. Did you have a question about it?
Might have been a serial number, might be an assembly number. sales@countrygunsmith.net
