Yes, the New Horizons space probe was launched from Earth in January 2006 by NASA. It is a robotic space vehicle which is on its way to the Dwarf Planet Pluto and its moons, to study this body in more detail. Although it was the fastest ever man made object to be launched from Earth, it is still only around halfway to Pluto. It is due to arrive there in 2015.
