Intoxication of any form raises the risk of accidents and mishaps, as movement, reflexes, and mental and visual acuity are impaired. However, whereas a vast number of ER visits every year are directly attributable to the use of alcohol alone, data on cannabis-only involvement is scarce, and many studies have concluded that cannabis use may in fact contribute to a lower risk of accident or injury. As cannabis intoxication is generally calming and lethargy-inducing, this is not surprising (injuries incurred while 'vegging out' on a sofa are unlikely).
Smoking cannabis may raise the risk of developing cancer when mixed with tobacco, though figures on pure marijuana use demonstrate no rise in the risk of mouth, throat, or lung cancer. The most intensive studies to date conclude that there is no measurable increase in the risk of cancer even as a result of heavy and chronic cannabis use.
Regardless of the herb or tobacco used, inhalation of smoke will always lead to the absorption of carbon monoxide, which reduces the oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood, and smoke of any sort will exacerbate (or increase the risk of developing) respiratory diseases; however, this does not constitute evidence of a direct link between cannabis use and death.
There has never been a case of death induced by marijuana overdose, thus the theoretical lethal dose of marijuana is considered to be at least thousands of times higher than that required for intoxicating effects; this simply reflects the fact that cannabis does not have known lethal dose. Compare this to hundreds of alcohol overdose deaths (alcohol being one of the most highly toxic drugs in use today) reported each year.
As with any drug, cannabis use can exacerbate underlying mental health conditions, neurosis and depression, and some users may experience strong paranoia even with a perfectly healthy mind. If of an emotionally or mentally unstable nature, this could conceivably increase incidents of self-harm or suicidal thoughts. In contrast, cannabis is recognised for its marked reduction of violent behaviour in test subjects, and so it is not attributable to deaths incurred by violence.
In truth, other drugs are usually involved where drug use is suspected as an influential factor in a fatal incident, but should any deaths be reasonably attributable (if at all) to cannabis use, this scenario is the most plausible. Unfortunately, depending upon the manner in which data has been represented, the involvement of cannabis in suicides and adverse behaviour related deaths varies from country to country, seemingly in proportion to the political desire or purpose of the relevant body presenting the data. In reality, data for cannabis-only fatality statistics is just not available.
In short, no deaths can reasonably be attributed purely to cannabis use... except, possibly, for one unidentified Brazilian:
In October of 2013, it was reported that an unidentified trafficker was killed in a collision with a tree following a chase after running a police stop in Bataguassu, Brazil- the half ton of untethered cannabis 'tablets' (or bricks) stuffed into the back of the car crushed him fatally against the steering wheel. As of the date of the report, authorities had failed to name him as he had no form of identification on his person.
NOBODY ANYWHERE HAS EVER DIED FROM SMOKING MARIJUANA DON'T BELIEVE THE LIES
i once read that the death count from marijuana was 0. I also heard that you have to consume like 15 pounds in 15 minutes to die from weed! that's crazy!
no one has ever died from Marijuana.
Yes my great grandfather did
Absolutely no one has died from Marijuana itself.
Many people have died under the influence of Marijuana
none
none
Zero. No death from marijuana has ever been reported.
No one has died from using marijuana.
you cant have an allergic reaction to marijuana, except happy, hungry, and tired
..It is impossible to die from marijuana. But if you mean spice, k2, cloud nine, and things like that you can die from them.
YES!! There are a lot of people in the world that have.
Less than zero That's a stupid answer a least one person has to have died from a heart attack cause by marijuana. Marijuana causes the heart to beat 40 time faster than a person who doesn't smoke marijuana. It makes them 5 times at risk of a heart attack ( 1 in 1,000 people) then people who don't smoke. news.harvar.edu
Zero. There is not ONE case of a person dying from marijuana alone. The LD50(dose at which 50 percent of people die) is estimated(since nobody has ever actually died from marijuana is 1500 pounds (680 kilograms) of Cannabis to be smoked within 15 minutes. Even the most burnt out of potheads couldn't handle that. Not to mention that you'd die from smoke inhalation before you died from the THC in the marijuana. Now, if you throw other drugs into the part along with the Marijuana, then yeah....fatality is a possibility. But to answer your question, Nobody has died from Marijuana
0 it will always stay 0.
