Although medical doctors that kill are not new, they are in the minority. America's 19th century Dr. Mudgett and late 20th century's Dr. Michael Swango are Harold Shipman's equals. But as to an actual copycat crime spree like Shipman's I could find no information on the subject.
There have been instances where healthcare professionals have been found to have intentionally harmed patients, but it is rare for a direct copycat of Harold Shipman's crimes to be identified. Shipman's case remains one of the most notorious in the history of healthcare-related crimes.
Harold Shipman was not related to royalty.

Dr. Shipman certainly had no problem with taking "trophies" from his victims. Jewelry, heirlooms, etc. anything of worth Shipman would take. In fact Shipman took one victim's car.
Prescription For Murder, a book by journalist Brian Masters
Very little within the regulations of the time. Subsequent changes have been made to help prevent any re-occurrence of the offence.
I met Dr Harold Shipman. This was on two or three occasions, all in a social context rather than professional. Known to his friends, acquaintances and neighbours as Fred, someone I was friendly with lived next door to him in Mottram, Manchester. She was very proud to boast that she lived next door to a Doctor and used to do some paid administration for him. Her daughter used to go to school with Shipman's children and the family had a strong bond with their professional neighbours. - shazwellyn- Shipman children identities has been protected and their names are not found in the records. This is the only mention of his children. By 1974 he was a father of two.
Shipman (2002) (TV)
Dr. Shipman didn't hide any of the bodies. He was a medical doctor and most of his patients were elderly and had recently been in his care for a medical problem. Shipman would usually give the victim an overdose of morphine or heart drug. For most deaths of elderly patients an autopsy is not ordered unless there are special circumstances or suspicisions. What finally raised eyebrows was the number of death certificates that Shipman was signing. His patients were dying at an alarming rate, while other physician's patient death rates remained the same.
Dr. Harold Shipman was caught when a fellow doctor noticed an unusually high number of cremation forms that he had signed for elderly patients. An investigation was launched, and it was discovered that Shipman had been forging prescriptions and administering lethal doses of drugs to his patients. He was eventually convicted of 15 counts of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
