It won't work. There is entirely too much pressure in the cylinders to seal up a head gasket... but many people have to try it themselves.
No, the only permanent fix for a blown head gasket is to replace it.
todays head gaskets dont need it
Steel seal, bars leak, JB, all will work for minor cooling system leaks; however, if you have a leaking head gasket that is consuming coolant you will find that mechanical repair is necessary.
dont do it !
My personal opinion is that the wording "head gasket" sounds complicated. When you say "engine block seal" it will make a little more since as to what you are actually dealing with and is no different. To answer your question, YES there is a temporary fix for a blown head gasket and it cost anywhere from $10.00-$65.00. It is called BARS Seal, BARS leak, Bars stop leak, and there are some other brands, but BARS Seal has always worked for me. It is a thick liquid substance that you pour into your radiator and when you follow the directions exactly, it works on any brand or size engine with a blown head gasket. In most cases this is temporary even though it may say "permanent" don't get your hopes up. I do, currently, own a 1995 V6 Toyota 4runner 4x4 sr5 that blew it's head gasket, back in 2001, and runs like a top, today, after adding BARS Seal 1 time, 9.5 years ago.
NO!!! Well.... maybe, but it's a gamble in the eyes of most! A lot of people are against it, but actually, there is a great quick fix for a blown head gasket. It's called BARS Seal/leak. There is a few different brands besides BARS, but when the directions are followed exactly, I have fixed many cars, trucks, and SUV's with BARS. It is a thick liquid substance, that can be purchased at most auto stores, that is poured into the radiator. I am currently driving a 1995 4runner that blew a head gasket back in 2001. After just 1 $10.00 bottle of BARS, it's still running like a top.
bars leak will plugg up your heater core meny times, good luck!
There is none. You cannot fix a blown head gasket with any head gasket sealer of any brand. They should only be used in an emergency situation in order to get the vehicle to a repair shop. The only permanent fix is to replace the head gasket.
It is liquid glass and copper filaments (for reinforcement). I used it in my 1998 Nissan sentra that had a blown head gasket and after 25k mi it still runs like a champ. Be sure to flush radiator and change oil before using. Flush coolant really well.
Answer making a head gasketThere is almost no engine that a head gasket is not available for. On the outside chance an engine is so rare that one is not available a 1/8 inch thick sheet of soft copper could be cut allowing for all the oil and water passages, bolt holes and cylindars. spray several coats of Copper Coat gasket sealer on both sides and hope for the best.
Yes, that would be a temporary emergency repair at best. The only permanent fix is to replace the gasket.
Definately use a new head gasket no question about it.. The only reuseable head gaskets are from full out race engines. Usually customed milled from a sheet of copper and most of the time reuseable for a set number of uses...
