Health rights don't change because of your marital status. Everyone (at least in western nations) has an equal right to receive health care. The difference is that in the United States, polygamist wives are often not able to obtain health insurance through their spouse as part of a family insurance policy, they must do so independently.
Polygamy is not allowed in free democratic countries. Polygamous families are very unstable in countries that allow full civil rights to women.
From a feminist perspective, polygamy may be seen as reinforcing patriarchal structures by allowing men to have multiple wives, potentially leading to unequal power dynamics and subordination of women. From a conflict perspective, polygamy can be viewed as a source of social inequality, where those with more resources can afford multiple partners, creating competition and tension among individuals in society. Both perspectives highlight the implications of polygamy on gender relations and social stratification.
Some sociological theories that involve polygamy include structural functionalism, which examines how polygamous relationships may serve certain social functions within a particular society, and symbolic interactionism, which looks at how individuals within polygamous relationships define and negotiate their roles and identities. Additionally, feminist theory may critique polygamy for perpetuating gender inequalities and patriarchal power dynamics.

Polygamy is slowly declining in areas of Africa where it isn't religiously mandated. As women get rights, education and assets, they have choices. Polygamy is an inherently abusive system for women, and they avoid it. Traditional non religious polygamy is tied to a power structure based on crops and land as wealth, and as money becomes more important, large polygamous families are very difficult to support in a way that increases your status. Religion based polygamy depends on indoctrinating women from an early age, and will take longer to stamp out as long as religions like Islam hold political power in so many areas. They can use their political power to restrict women's choices.
