mpeg4 is high-def video format. Nowadays not all of the video editor support high-def format. So you need to pick up a good editing program.
1. Make sure what is your need. What about your video quality, video format when after edit
2. Choose a solution according to your demand. If you don't want something hi-def, then just convert it to avi, mov, wmv. etc. Or edit it with mpeg-supported video editor and export to SD ones. If you want a hi-def one, choose editor like ArcSoft ShowBiz 5 to edit in mpeg4 format, and directly output as mpeg.
