The First Reich was under the more well-known name of the Holy Roman Empire, begun by Charlemagne , which was led by numerous Emperors throughout the centuries which it existed. The Second Reich was unified and led by the Prussian Emperor, Wilhelm I and his chancellor, Otto Von Bismarck. Wilhelm I was succeeded by Kaiser Wilhelm II, and the monarchy and hence the Second Reich, ended after the First World War.
