How can I change the color of a semi-transparent section without changing its transparency (I'm looking for a website that can do this to a transparent image)?

For people who are familiar with the show and its fandom, we create a pony version of ourselves to fit into the world of My Little Pony and its fandom. The ponies in the show have a symbol on their flanks called a "Cutie Mark," and the Cutie Mark for my pony is a translucent, pyramid-shaped prism with a beam of light going into one side and shooting out of the other side in a rainbow. I found the perfect image to use as my prism, but it's only pale white in color. I want mine to be slightly blue while staying transparent, so the color of my pony's coat shows through the prism with a slight tint.

Why is it tricky to classify materials for transparency?

Because certain materials are completely transparent to one part of the electromagnetic spectrum while looking completely solid to another. For example, there's certain kinds of plastics that look completely black but are actually transparent to infrared. Transparency is sort've useless without telling you what spectrum it's transparent in. Of course, it's assumed it's the visible spectrum in most cases. There's also the problem of partially transparent materials and materials that actually change transparency to some extent.

How you cannot see sky from space but can see ocean from space?

The "sky" is just our atmosphere, which is mostly transparent. Actually, you CAN see the "sky" from space, if you're looking across the horizon; you can see the hazy glow of our atmosphere around the curvature of the Earth. But when you are looking down, you're looking through a thin enough layer of air that it is pretty much transparent.

Why can't we see through all plastic materials?

Not all plastic materials are transparent because some plastics are formulated to be opaque or colored. The opacity is often due to the presence of additives, fillers, or pigments that block light from passing through the material. Additionally, the molecular structure of the plastic can affect its transparency.

Dimming the light when looking at living nearly transparent cells helps to reduce glare and improve contrast, making it easier to see the cells clearly.
