Bhubaneswar is the largest city in the state of Odisha which is also its capital. It has a mythological reason behind naming it Ekamra Kshetra.

The story goes as- Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were staying in Varanasi after their marriage. But when some time went by, the place became very populated and Shiva couldn't meditate there peacefully anymore. So he went on searching for a peaceful place and finally landed in Odisha. But Shiva never told Parvati about where he was going.

Parvati, while searching for Lord Shiva found a mango tree. She noticed that so many cows were coming under the tree to milk on their own. She understood at once that Shiva was residing under that tree. Because Shiva was meditating under a mango(Ekamra) tree in the land(Kshetra) of Bhubaneswar, hence the name Ekamra Kshetra.
