You can easily apply powder foundations—such as pressed powder, setting powder, or mineral foundation—without using a foundation brush. The most convenient method, which also ensures a smooth and seamless finish, is to press the product onto your skin using a velvet powder puff or a beauty blender.

The trick to perfect makeup application is investing in a set of quality brushes and applicators. Apply concealer first with you finger, covering any blemishes or under-eye circles. Next, use a soft sponge to apply liquid foundation. The foundation should be a shade that matches your skin tone and is not too heavy. Apply a light coating of loose powder over the liquid foundation using a large, bristled foundation brush. Lastly, apply a small amount of blush to the apples of your cheeks with a medium-sized, bristled blush brush. If desired, apply lip gloss with a small, fine-bristled lip brush.
, A blush brush is more commonly seen with an angled shape for easier and more precise maneuvering of the cosmetic to the face where as a powder brush is for all over coverage for powder foundation. Remember to always set cream skin products with a powder to set it!
In order to apply bronzing powder with a brush correctly you will first want to pick out a bronzer. It shouldn't be much darker than your skin color. Second, you will want to choose your best brush. The wider the better. Next, You will need to apply your base powder to keep facial oils out of the actual bronzing coat. From then on you just apply your bronzer with your brush and enjoy.
To apply Bare Minerals loose powder foundation, first flip your foundation jar upside down. Flip it back right side up and tap the jar firmly a few times. This ensures that there will be powder in the sifter, but not so much that it's hard to work with.Using the foundation brush you received in your kit or any fluffy buffer brush, dip it lightly into the powder sitting on top of the sifter. Using the empty lid, swirl the powder around. This pushes it into the brush without caking the brush with powder. This will ensure you get even coverage when you apply it.After you have buffed the powder into your brush, tap off the excess on the side of the lid. A sprinkle of powder should fall loose from your brush. You want to start with a light coat, so this step is important.Once your brush is completely prepared, start wherever you like on your face. Use your brush in gentle swirling motions across your skin. I usually begin with my cheeks, then move on to my forehead, then my temples, then my chin when applying powder foundation, but the order is really up to you. Be sure to buff it in really well. The powder will slide over your face a bit, so buffing ensures that it glides over any lines or wrinkles and covers your face evenly. Always use a gentle hand. Your brush shouldn't feel like a toothbrush against your face. It should feel like a plush feather. At this point, your foundation is finished. If you have powder blush, using a smaller powder brush repeat the preparation that includes loading your brush, swirling the powder in the cap and tapping off the excess.Smile and apply your blush to the apples of your cheeks. This means the center, not necessarily the highest point. If you are using a bronzing powder, load your brush again using the steps above and, preferably with an angled contour brush, but your blush brush works as well, suck in your cheeks and apply the powder very, very lightly in the hollows. Buff it out well. No harsh lines should be visible--only a faint shadow.Apply the powder lightly to your temples and along your hairline if it strikes your fancy. Bronzing powder can also be used under the chin to hide any roundness there. Try keeping in mind places where the sun naturally hits your skin and tans you.If you have a highlight with your Bare Minerals kit, use this on the tops of your cheek bones and down the bridge of your nose. Avoid using it on your forehead or chin if you have shiny or oily skin.To keep everything in place, you should always use a translucent powder to seal it all. This will set all of your makeup and make it last all day. Some powders are iridescent and give off a glowing finish. Some are completely white to achieve the same effect. Whatever your finishing powder, apply it just as you would foundation all over your skin and you're finished!Be sure to apply the translucent powder nearly last. If you wear any extra products, put them on before your finishing powder. The only product that goes on after finishing powder is mascara. The powder can stick to your lashes and when they are coated in mascara, it makes them look even longer.I hope this has helped you. Good luck with your all natural makeup routine. =]
The best shade of powder is the one that matches your skin colour or the colour of your foundation (if you wear any). If you apply your powder with a brush, it shouldn't really matter if the powder shade is lighter because it won't be noticable but if your apply it by patting it on with those thingys that sometimes come with the powder, more powder will be on your face so it might look a bit weird if the powder is too light.
Apply an ice pad, comb it out with a toothbrush or soft brush, massage the area. Put foundation or powder on it or wear a turtleneck or scarf to cover it up immediately.
Apply it with either a brush or a sponge, not your fingers.

there are many different ways of applying foundation, but the one that I feel it the most natural looking, is a brush. you want a nice dense brush, as this will apply the foundation to your skin, rather than getting it clogged up in the bristles. put your desired amount of foundation on the back of your hand, and add a small portion of this to your brush. stating at the centre of your face, buff ( apply with pressure in circular motions) the foundation into your skin, working it outwards towards the hair line as you go. make sure that it is all worked into your skin, and be sure to apply a bit to your jaw line and neck for a more natural finish.
