There is an older lady who attends my church. She has made it a habit of only coming to church if someone picks her up at her home and brings her back home. We live in a city with a good public transportation system as well as Uber and Lyft. She refuses to use any of these services. Instead, she has been making her way through the church members soliciting free rides. She offers no compensation for gas. The last member that was bringing her left the church for personal reasons. I made the mistake of picking her up and dropping her off but I was already picking up someone else who lived in her building, but that person pays me. Even after seeing the 2nd passenger pay me she had not been moved to chip in. I admit it was on me to tell her what I expected instead of waiting and hoping for her to at very least offer gas money. This has been going on for several weeks now and I've grown tired of it. I feel like an idiot for even asking but I'm trying to be respectful of her age. I do I tactfully disengage from this woman?
