How to Track Material Movement in SAP

Material movement in SAP is tracked using material documents generated whenever a transaction like Goods Receipt, Goods Issue, or Transfer Posting occurs.

🔹 1. Using Material Document

Every movement creates a Material Document.

It contains details like:

Material number

Quantity

Movement type (e.g., 101, 201, 301)

Plant and storage location

You can view it using transaction code MB03.

🔹 2. Using Stock Overview (T-Code: MMBE)

Shows current stock levels of a material.

Displays stock by:

Plant

Storage location

Batch

Helps track where the material is available.

🔹 3. Using Material Document List (T-Code: MB51)

Generates a report of all material movements.

You can filter by:

Date

Movement type

Plant

Very useful for tracking history.
