The electrostatic attraction in an ionic bond is very strong hence a lot of heat energy is required to break it down and thus explaining why ionic bonds have high melting and boiling points. However,In covalent bonds, the intermolecular forces are very weak and is easily broken,hence lesser heat is required and thus covalent bonds have lower melting and boiling points.

Ionic compounds are the strongest of all, breaking the bonds takes a lot of energy, their boiling and melting points are much higher. Ionic compounds do not conduct electricity at all, except one that i can't remember

Molecular compounds have lower melting points, lower boiling points and lower conductivity than ionic. This is because the ionic compounds are giant lattice compounds hef together with electrostatic forces which when dissolved or mlten have free ions that can conduct electricity. Molecular compounds in th eliquid and solid are held together with weak intermolecuar forces, (van der Waals) and when molten or dissolved are uncharged so that they do not conduct.

As a generalization, the melting and boiling points of ionic compounds are substantially higher than the corresponding characteristics of covalent compounds. However, there are some ionic compounds with lower melting points than many covalent compound. Some substituted tetra-ammonium salts in particular are liquid at room temperature. There are also some covalent compounds such as diamond with higher melting points than most ionic compounds.
