The amount of people practicing pagan religions in diminishing in most areas of Africa, so maybe paganism will disappear from Africa as education continues to spread.
It is different: The Nubians retained many Egyptian cultural influences but developed their own written language.
European trade and conquest took Christianity to Africa and the Americas. Christianity also spread to Asia, but with rather less success as it met other advanced religions that were more difficult to supplant.
Universal religions
The two major religions in Africa are Christianity and Islam. Christianity was better introduced in to Africa when it was declared a state religion in 300 C.E. In 440 C.E. majority of kindgom was converted and Christianity was declared as the official state religion. Islam spread to Africa through Arab passage. There were also many Muslim Empires in Africa which of course influenced religion. Islam rapidly grew in the 20th century.
Scientists theorize that the first people ever were in what is now Africa. They spread to different parts of the world because they followed herds of animals to different places.

Typically, Arab merchants spread goods from place to place. (That's what merchants do.) However, merchants also facilitate cultural diffusion which allows for religions to move between countries. It was through Arab merchants that Islam disseminated through West Africa, East Africa, and much of Indonesia.
