That depends on the area where you live for evapotranspiration rate, the type of soil you have, and its ability to drain. Watering deeply but infrequently will force the roots deeper and make the plants better able to handle periods of drought. Keep the soil damp below the surface but not soaked as too much water will cause rot, and allow the area to partially dry out before applying water again. If you have had a particularly hot or windy day you may want to water, but if it has been calm and overcast, you can probably wait a day or two.
