Welcome to another informative blog post from Bangladesh Automation Technologies. Today you will learn about PLC and connection of HMI to PLC.
In the field of Automation, PLC is a kind of electronic device which is used in the industry and factory for the purpose of controlling machine. In the automation field, it is also known as an electronic computer. The maximum industry and factory are now depending on the automation system.
Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is an industrial solid-state computer which is monitors the input device and makes logic-based decisions for automated processes or machines.
Today’s, the maximum number of PLCs is a module. It is enabling the user to add more extra features such as including discrete control, analog control, PID control, position control, motor control, serial communication, and high-speed networking. If we compared to this PLC into older technologies, the PLC is simple to troubleshoot, more reliable, more cost-effective and more multipurpose.

HMI is "human machine interface" for short. It's the interaction between humans and machines. The goal of this interaction is effective operation and control of the machine on the user's end. The feed back from machines aids the operator in making operational decisions or improvement. For example, if you want to do detailed control to a machine. For main objects, you need a hmi and plc. You can do the operation on hmi's touch panel, then hmi send the command to plc, and plc deal with and process the command. Without hmi, you can't reach to the detailed controls, and only simple can be done.
Most large machines have a big red button on the human-machine interface panel (HMI panel). When I push the big red button, everything on the machine stops, including the programmable logic controllers (PLC).
To synchronize an Allen-Bradley PLC with an Arista HMI, you typically establish communication between the two using protocols like EtherNet/IP or RS-232, depending on the specific models and capabilities. You'll need to configure the PLC to allow data exchanges by setting up tags or data structures that the HMI can read and write. In the Arista HMI software, create screens and link them to the PLC tags to display and control the data. Finally, test the communication to ensure that data flows correctly between the two devices.
This allows the 3G3MV increased intelligence and autonomy for tasks such as positioning and synchronization. Combining the inverter and PLC eliminates the cost and delay of point-to-point wiring, while saving panel space. The onboard PLC features RS-232 and the vendor’s hostlink communication. A direct, dual-port RAM connection gives complete access to inverter parameters, as well as providing encoder input, interrupt inputs, and digital, pulse and PWM outputs, resulting in enhanced speed, positioning and function control for the application being controlled. Finerays is providing solar energy products and services (Their products are solar inverter, MPPT charge controller, Electronic Ballast for HID lamps, PLC Based NODE, PLC Based Concentrator, AMR Gateway)
According to me the place where they provide best PLC training should provide with complete study on PLC hardware, its programming from basics to project level by providing complete guidance to any industrial projects, then communication with PLC SCADA HMI VFD, Master slave communication with PLC to PLC communication, a complete study on Instruments used and its communication and finally we should know how to design a PLC panel according to Industrial Standards. then finally troubleshooting it. I have seen for myself the one and only institute providing these things are from smeclabs. I can recommend this place because i have seen some of the Engineers who have worked in industry is teaching there. for your reference their website is wwwdotsmeclabsdotcom
