Cleopatra did not have to resolve the problem about her sister Cleopatra Tryphaena was killed by the supporters of King Ptolemy XII. After Tryphaena's death, Berenice IV, one of Cleopatra's sisters put herself queen. She was later executed by her father's order.
Tryphaena was a title used after a woman's name. It means "opulent one". Both Cleopatra V and Cleopatra VI were titled Tryphaena. Cleopatra VI Tryphaena was an obscure sister of Cleopatra VII, who ruled briefly with her sister Berenice IV before disappearing from history.
She was either Cleopatra's older sister or (most likely) her step-mother.
Cleopatra's sister, Cleopatra Tryphaena, did not get executed (as far as we know). It was her sister Berenice who was executed by their father because she had usurped the throne. As for Cleo Tryphaena, there are mixed signals about her. Some writers say that she died as a child while others claim that she lived long enough to co-rule with her sister Berenice.Cleopatra's sister, Cleopatra Tryphaena, did not get executed (as far as we know). Cleopatras mother was her fathers sister, Cleopatra V, Tryphaena and she was killed by Cleopatra's sister Bernice because Cleopatra and her father had left to rome and Tryphaena had taken the throne. Cleopatras father died of natural causes (or so is thought) in 51 b.c.
I think you mean the opposite. Tryphaena hated her sister because she wanted to be queen. If she had all her sisters dead she would be able to be queen
no, Cleopatra dearly loved her father... her older sister Tryphaena, supposely killed her first father..
Tryphaena is cleopatras elder sister
Depends on which Tryphaena you mean. If you mean Cleopatra VIII's older sister, Cleopatra VII Tryphaena or better known as Tryphaena, well, she was rather a diffucult person to get along with. Tryphaena loved watching battles in the arena, and she hated the Jews and the Medes. She hated Cleopatra, poor people, and was of a harsh and cruel character. She threatened her sisters, brothers and father...when her father, Ptolemy XII left Egypt, she took the throne (accroding to the Egyptian law and belief, women were just meant to be queens not pharaohs...however that is another story)..she was either poisoned by her younger full sister, Berenice IV, strangled by her father's supporters or a unlikely and unpoplaur theory, died in infancy..
It was good and bad. she hated her eldest sister Tryphaena (Who's name ment pleaser seeker).Cleopatra also had a sister, Berenice, who she loved her dearly. Her father fled to Rome from Egypt because he was getting attacked by assassians.
Cleopatra was a name used by each Queen of Egypt from the death of Alexander the Great until the Roman conquest of the country. The most well know Cleopatra was the last one, who was involved with Julius Caesar and Mark Antony. She was Cleopatra VII Philopator. Her mother was Cleopatra V Tryphaena of Egypt.
Nobody really knows who Cleopatra's mother was. It's enerally accepted that she was Cleopatra V Tryphaena of Egypt, the sister or cousin and wife of Ptolemy XII. One assumes that she did much the same things as most Queens, Looked after the royal family and bearing Ptolomy children to continue the royal lineage.
There are many Bernices and at least two Cleopatra Tryphaenas. (The ancient Egyptians were not too creative with their names) If you mean Cleopatra VII's sisters, well Bernice was executed by her father when he returned to power and Cleopatra Tryphaena just disappeared from the historical record, although some researchers think that she may have ruled alongside her sister Bernice for a brief time.
