∙ 12y agoIf rabbits aren't properly cared for, they will get sick often and/or die young. Rabbits are unique animals with special needs. Many common ailments can be prevented through proper care, though, and if given the chance they are healthy and long-lived animals. ∙ 15y agoEating iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, or other plants they can't digest well. Moldy food is also responsible in a lot of cases. Some rabbits also suffer digestive problems when under severe stress.

∙ 13y agoRabbits get sick in a various of ways some include:
- Eye infections (can be caused by hay or sawdust being stuck in there eye)
- Cancer (cell tumours called Lymphosarcoma and can form in any tissue, with the most common ones being the lymph nodes, skin, kidneys, liver and spleen, Mammary tumours, that generally make a sudden assault and are chiefly carcinomas. The Myxoma virus infection in rabbits causes skin tumours which are mainly fibrous, while the Nephroma (juvenile) develops in the embryo of the rabbit, Papilloma which is caused by the papilloma viruses and attacks the skin (Shope papilloma) or the mouth. If it occurs in the skin, the infection lasts long and then becomes carcinomas. However, if it happens in the mouth, the tumours are small and look like grey-white nodules which develop under the tongue and on the gums as well for more information on rabbit cancer, see the related link below for more info
- Broken bones

- Gas pain
- Gastrointestinal problems are usually accompanied by a drastic, sometimes complete decrease in fecal production. Keep your rabbit comfortable and hydrated
- Head tilt (twisting his or her head towards the ceiling)
